Somewhere along the way, you lost a bit of yourself.
Counselling and hypnotherapy to help you find your way back.
Hi, I’m Allyson.

You’ve probably been keeping things together for a long time.
Managing home, family and work, appearing to everyone around you that you are coping, getting on with it. While quietly behind closed doors wondering why it all feels so hard, like you’re barely holding on. Maybe your one step away from bursting into tears or shouting at the next person who speaks to you.
Maybe you’re grieving someone, or something, and it’s taking longer than people seem to expect to move on. Are you living with pain or illness that’s taken more from you than just your physical health. Or stuck in a cycle with food and stress and exhaustion that you can’t seem to break, no matter how much you understand it.
You don’t need more advice. You need someone who will really listen, and work with you, not at you.
I know some of this from my own lived experience.
I live with chronic symptoms myself, so I understand the days when your body sets the agenda. The plans cancelled at the last minute. The tiredness that sleep doesn’t touch. The exhausting business of explaining yourself to people who can’t see what’s wrong. You won’t need to prove to me how hard it is.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years as a nurse, and later supporting children with special educational needs and their families. Different settings, same lesson: people rarely need fixing. They need someone to notice what’s really going on, and to stay with them while they work it out.
That’s what I bring to our sessions. I’m a pluralistic counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist, which means I don’t follow a fixed formula. I draw on whatever is most useful for you, because people are complicated, and one size has never fitted anyone particularly well.
I have qualifications in Counselling, Hypnotherapy and Life coaching and am a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and National Hypnotherapy Society.
Counselling
Counselling with me is available as a standalone service: just you, the space, and someone who will genuinely listen without an agenda. I work with the full range of life’s harder chapters: bereavement, chronic illness, stress, anxiety, confidence, self-worth, and the things that are difficult to name but impossible to ignore. Sessions are open-ended or short-term, shaped around what you need rather than a fixed programme.
Hypnotherapy
The Grounded Collection
For those caught in the cycle of emotional eating, often driven by pain, fatigue, stress or overwhelm, my hypnotherapy work brings counselling and coaching in as part of something bigger. The Grounded Collection is a tailored programme that weaves together hypnotherapy, counselling, coaching, breathwork and journalling into three tiers of support, each one designed to meet you exactly where you are.
Both services are available online, wherever you are in the world, or face to face in Monmouth.
If something here resonates, a free discovery call is a good place to start. No pressure, no commitment. Just a conversation.
Let’s Find the Right Fit for You
Not sure where to start? That’s completely normal, and it’s exactly what the discovery call is for.
It’s a free, relaxed 30-minute chat about what’s going on for you and what you’d like to be different.
You can ask me anything: how sessions work, whether counselling or The Grounded Collection makes more sense, or what happens if you cry in the first five minutes. (Nothing dramatic. I pass the tissues.)
No pressure, no hard sell, and no obligation to book anything afterwards.
Just a conversation, from wherever you’re comfortable.
